And so it goes...

  • Two Roads to 1984

I think that the universe is shrinking.  Or maybe I’m just losing it.  I have ressigned to letting my most profound thoughts go and sticking with anything about what I am already persuing in the real world.  I guess I’ll make this tumblr blog about the thoughts I let go along with my thoughts on the manufacture of conscensus.

Thought let go of today-  Childhood: the true existential experience.

I have done a lot of rethinking of myself to consider myself to be even at the doorstep of being an existensialist. I had to reckon with a lot of fiction that I considered to be my view of the world. Number one amoung those is anything I considered to be my view of how controlled the world is. With the internet being well past 10 years old, I would have thought that the truth about what goes on in government would have come to light to the general population via the MSM at least having to save face and admit that a corporate power structure that has dictated what is the news of the world, but nothing has changed much. Anything outside of the realm of what is most widely reported is dimissed as just so much conspiracy theory. The concept of conspiracy theory is so prevelant that it would be impossible to convince anyone of the lengths that corporations go to to diseminate the power which is rightfully the peoples from the people. And so that goes.

Onto the subject at hand- Two Roads to 1984

I recently renewed my interest in Wikipedia and got to thinking about how it’s sister site; Wiktionary would do well to focus on the disambiguation of terms used on Wikipedia. This is hardly the case. For all intents and purposes it is just another online dictionary. Unless it changes a lot it will never be my go-to online dictionary. I really think it would never be anyones serious go-to online dictionary unlless it diversifies into speciality dictionaries

The thought that I had that was consistant with dictionaries had to do with how in the book 1984 the eventual goal of “the party” to whittle the language down into a single word. However unlikely the possibility of that would be, there would seem to be an inverse pattern of word useage were every word came to mean the same thing. This scenerio is just as unlikely to arrive at it’s objective, but as far limiting people’s ability to express themselves the result would be the same
